Keeping members engaged

For any organisation, especially volunteer organisations, keeping members engaged is a difficult task and two keys areas to address this issue are

1. to have a means to distribute information to the members
2. to provide the members with a voice to connect with other members and the executive/board of the organisations

Phone service update

Fernie SAR have now been using the phone dispatch service of VolunteerRescue for six months and it has proved very successful, and today I had the chance to try out the latest integration features of the latest release in a live situation.

Saving costs with VolunteerRescue

Volunteer organisations are typically funded by grants and donations that just about cover annual expenses, training, equipment replacement etc... Treasurers are often looking for new opportunites to save the pennies to make the available funds stretch as far as possible.

VolunteerRescue is fully aware of this situation with the company owner being a member of a volunteer organisation that is in the same situation as mentioned above and as a result VolunteerRescue has a number of features that can replace other fee based services organisations may be subscribing to.

Mobile app - Why and how to use the cloud

The VolunteerRescue mobile app stores data locally on the device the app is being run on, however as mobile devices are portable they can easily be lost and damaged which would result in loss of the data stored locally for the app; data that you have spent time entering and maintaining.

Calendars, events and training

Safety of its members is the primary responsibility of a rescue organisation and one way to achieve safety is to ensure each members' training is up to date whether this be through in house training or external training providers; either way it is important that members are aware of the training they are eligible for and the dates and times of the training sessions.
